1st Sheridan Invitational Golf Tournament |
Deer Track Golf Club, located 20 minutes north of Fort Wayne, was host for the first Sheridan Invitational Golf Tournament on October 16, 1999. The 18 hole par 72 couse challenged 31 golfers on a very typical Indiana fall day. We had a brief rain shower on the back nine, which many golfers would blame for the closing nine scores. For the most part, it was a very nice day with temps in the low 70's to high 60's and sunshine at the end. Amazingly, the host, Seth Sheridan, wins the first Wemhoff Jacket. The Skins Challenge was quite lucrative also. Seven skins were awarded at $24/each, one on the front at #9 and six on the back. Seth Sheridan and Mike Chandler won two skins each. Shad Igney, Tim Gouloff, and Anne Lyng won one each. The prize holes at $40/each were #9 for Long Drive, #5 and #11 for Closest to the Pin, and #18 for Long Putt. Jeff Tyler won the Long Drive, Anne Lyng and Mike Chandler took the Closest to the Pin, and Lucy Cox slammed in a 25 footer on #18 for the Long Putt prize. I would like to thank everyone that came out to the first Invitational. |
